As an only child, I am always fascinated by stories of close-knit siblings. There are lots of plot twists here, many easy to anticipate, and the characters aren't terribly well-developed, but it's an easy read.

A novel that takes place over the course of a lifetime. The life journey of each character is beautifully drawn out, allowing for complex character development which reaches an emotional culmination in the final few chapters. I enjoyed getting to know the characters, reflecting on the decisions they had made, and what truly makes a life well loved - love, community, being truly known.
My expectations were high, but I didn’t connect to this family drama. I did like all the basketball references, but the rest wasn’t for me.
