Part of me think that She Gets the Girl should actually be called Mommy Issues: the Book. Alex's mom is a manipulative alcoholic, and Molly's mom is clingy and is dealing with a TON of internalized anti-Asian racism.

Other than the massive mommy issues and Alex's awful sort-of girlfriend Natalie, this book is relatively light and fluffy.

I enjoyed Alex and Molly as point of view characters. They both felt real and flawed without being too complicated. I definitely related to both of them in certain ways.

I wish some of the side characters had been fleshed out a little more and that the book had maybe been a bit longer, but I definitely think it accomplished what it set out to do.

Overall, if you’re looking for a sapphic college story written by a very adorable wife/wife duo (and inspired by their own college romance), I definitely recommend She Gets the Girl.

I liked this book, it was really fun and the whole thing was really entertaining to read.
I wasn't really a fan of the fact that Molly spent the ENTIRE book fawning over Cora just to reject her when she realized she liked Alex, but it's not the most unrealistic thing and I know feelings are confusing so it honestly wasn't that annoying.

I liked the story and the sort of I'll-do-yours-if-you-do-mine thing that was going on, and I'm happy with who everyone ended up with. I did like that while it was a generally fun book there were parts of it that took a darker/ more realistic side and I really enjoyed that.
Overall it was very good and I liked it :)

This book felt like a hug ♥ I loved all the fluffy scenes!

This book is set in college! Yay to that! I loved the topic of majoring in what you love or a secure (paying) major, cause I relate. To be fair, I went down a rabbit hole about trepanation yesterday, so it's not like I'm not interested in studying medicine like Alex was (don't do premed if you can't see blood lol) but if I knew I'd get the job I wanted with a degree in biology I definitly would've chosen that field 😂 I wish the book would've delved a bit deeper into that topic and how privileged upbringing plays a role in college.

However, it is nice to read a lighthearted book once in a while! And when it came to alcoholism and internalized racism, it had some more serious scenes. I loved Jim, I wish he would've gotten more page time!

No 5 stars cause
I hate it when the couple only gets together on the last pages. I require a cute epilogue at least! I WANT TO FEEL LESS SINGLE! or more single but pretend I'm not idk...
