This novel is a little too non-linear for my tastes. I also don't love being on the outside of the POV motivations and too many strange events happened off page that just pick up out of nowhere with no internal dialogue about why they happened. Like she steals a lab monkey from her job and she literally never says why.
The older sister would have been a more interesting lead character but we literally never find out what happened to her bc the MC literally never wondered where her sister disappears to.

So beautifully written. This novel is a masterclass in real life- sometimes we don’t say what we want or need to, questions that have haunted our minds for years will go unanswered. Sometimes there is no finite solution but it’s the way we keep moving, that this book gets right.
