While the world created is quite well done and fascinating. I found the storyline terrible. From the beginning I predicted the plots till the ending. Also the romance is very toxic and really messed up because it's mostly pure physical seduction and lying, not a lot of trust, emotional or kindnesses.
The writing was okay but I wasn't getting as into it as I wanted to be. I did try and trudged through but in the end, I just couldn't bring myself to want to finish is. The FMC also was meh.
DNF - very YA. Very cringy dialogue. Not enough plot. Rolled my eyes one too many times. Hawk needs to learn what consent sounds like.

Overall entertaining romantasy. However, some of the inner thoughts of Poppy felt repetitive and ongoing. Also, I really didn't love the modern-day phrases like "whatever" and "shut up" that were woven through book. On another note - I love Hawke... I think.
