I enjoyed this one a lot! It was a quick read and I’m excited to see where the next book takes them. This one did seem like a middle book to set things up, which is why I knocked off a star. Not much happened except right at the end but I did have a good time reading it. Can’t wait for the next!

I read this in one sitting! It was more plot driven than the previous, but that is to be expected seeing as we've already met the characters. The characters made decisions I agreed with and the plot is interesting enough that it kept my attention and made me want to know more!

I love Vethe so much. Him going to the Guards Guild with Theo- his inner monologue was the cutest thing I've seen all week. But this book was the definition of the miscommunication trope. All of Vethe and Lyria's relationship problems can be solved in like one or two sentences.
