I felt a range of emotions listening to this audiobook. I abhored & enjoyed seeing Billy's & Daisy's growth and development as musicians and people and dealing with the complexity of their lives, exploration of addiction, love, sense of self. I liked Karen, she was great. Everyone was complicated & the ending was nice, I didn't expect Julia to be that JULIA. I also admired Camila's unwavering belief in her family. 

The women in this book are so powerful and dynamic. There are so many strong messages about women empowerment, supporting other women, and demanding credit where it’s due. Even the smaller side characters are them much more layered than most supporting characters, as we explore their own storylines. Plus the relationships between all of the women, (Karen & Daisy, Karen & Camila, Camila & Daisy – even Daisy and little Julia made my heart swell!) are wholesome, unique, and authentic. Especially for a story with a bit of a love triangle, I could not be happier with the superb study of the experience of women.

Taylor Jenkins Reid is an incredible author! Planning to read more from her. The layers present in this book were so intricately woven together and one character couldn’t exist without the other. I do feel like there could’ve been more of a buildup leading to the downfall of it all, but at the same time that would’ve taken away some of the realistic aspects of it. Loved this, would definitely recommend!

Cách kể chuyện rất sáng tạo và hấp dẫn. Ban đầu tạo được hiệu quả nhất định, và sẽ hiệu quả như vậy nếu cốt truyện tốt.

Các nhân vật trong này, đều rất khiên cưỡng. 1 chị ca sĩ sống buông thả, không kiểm soát được bản thân lại được coi là biểu tượng nữ quyền. 1 ông chồng sống trong tình cảnh chán cơm thèm phở được tung hô là chung thủy, biết kiềm chế vì hạnh phúc gia đình. 1 bà vợ không thể hiện bất kỳ thái độ nào ra ngoài lại được tác giả coi là mẫu mực.

Nói chung tam quan các nhân vật đều có vấn đề, hay do tam quan của người châu Á khác, chứ quyển này được các bạn Tây rate cao lắm mà. Trong 3 quyển của TJR, các nhân vật đều rối trong mớ bòng bong quan hệ và đều có những cách xử lý rất forced. Thôi vậy, tạm biệt TJR.
