Again, I let a Kelly Rimmer book sit on my TBR shelf for way too long.

Rimmer has a way of making you actual feel the environment she is describing without inundating you with useless prose. These characters were very real and I couldn't help but feel their pain and desperation. I read a lot of WWII fiction and this ranks up there with the best.

Oh what a book!! I cried so many times of hurt, sadness, grief and even happiness. This takes you through all twists and turns of war and makes you face some ugly parts! But it shows what love can really do for you.

What an emotional read. My heart was shattered so many times while reading this. It sickens me that so many innocent children died and others too. Absolutely bawled at the ending, true love survives anything!
