CWs: child neglect, death due to impaired driving

I'll keep this brief. The weakest of any Hoover novel I've read, but "weak" is relative when it comes to this author. Not shockingly, I wasn't able to put it down. That's just her writing. But the characters were rough, the plot was a tad...bleak, and unlike in her other novels, the small details seemed scattered and unimportant. And fair warning, this read way less like a romance and way more like a high stakes domestic drama.

I LOVE THIS BOOK. There was so much wrong with it, but I don't care.

Two recommendations though:
1) don't listen to the audiobook at work unless you can close your office door and sob in private.
2) DONT READ THE BACK OF THE BOOK!! Thankfully I randomly grabbed the audiobook when I saw it available and knew nothing going into it. When i finished it, I read the summary and felt a pretty big part of the plot was spoiled.

I was very against jumping on the CoHo train because it was trendy, but then this one was on KU and I figured I’d do it. SO WORTH IT. Our kids will probably look at these like we look at our moms reading Danielle Steele, but I don’t care. I went through the emotional turmoil of a tragic heartbreak, reunion, and happy ending and it didn’t disrupt my life one bit. It was also a quick read once I quit dragging my heels about jumping on the bandwagon.
