I absolutely loved this book. I found it to be relatable in a lot of aspects, and the main character is hilariously honest.

Touching, honest, lovable. Feels very "2017" to me, but the conversation it stirs up about mental health is still very much relevant. The book had a bit of a slow start for me that made the first half feel slow pacing-wise, but after that things sped along nicely.

You can't help but love Eleanor (in all her unfiltered glory) and Raymond, who has such an amazing heart.

A part of this book I found particularly interesting was its commentary on parasocial relationships being born out of our own loneliness and lack of fulfillment in our lives socially. I can definitely relate to falling for a celebrity who doesn't know I exist!

I really loved getting to see Eleanor heal & become a better person throughout the process of letting love in as I, the reader, was growing to love Eleanor the character.
I honestly could’ve gone without the twist at the end with her mom, but that’s just personal preference!

The book is such a cozy and comforting one ! It has nothing over the top happening but still it is so deep and leaves you pondering on life. I loved the character arc of Eleanor - from having a visibly negative mindset fed into her by her abusive mother in the beginning of the book to gradually having her own positive opinions and judgements. I also LOVED the role of Raymond.
Sometimes all one needs is one helping hand to come out from a very dark place and I loved how Raymond played the role of that helping hand. That Raymond and Eleanor didn’t have any romantic entanglement and the care was purely from a platonic angle was heartwarming. It was good to see that Eleanor was on her way to try to be happy by the end of the book. The book reinforces the fact that how we interact with those around us impact the other person so much ! The book as well as Eleanor was uniquely beautiful. Both will stay with me for a long time ! ❤️

I loved this so much.
I wasn’t sure at first but by the end I was so invested.
Eleanor is very well written she seems like the type of person that would really annoy me in real life but I could never bring myself to truly dislike her and I loved watching her grow.
It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster sad but not depressing (if that makes sense).

If you want a fast moving plot and action this isn’t for you it’s more of a slow character driven story.
