No i właśnie o to mi chodziło, panie Machanienko. Wrócił jeden konkretny cel, może i trochę się zmieniał i był modyfikowany, ale był. I dzięki temu znowu zupełnie super mi się to czytało. Przez ostatnie 30 stron nikt by mnie nie zmusił, żebym to odłożyła. Kilka razy w środku książki również były takie momenty, ale dobrze, że nie była taka bez przerwy, bo sesja - trzeba robić inne rzeczy też przecież.
Machanowi idzie coraz trudniej, coraz mniej rzeczy dostaje zupełnie za darmo, musi wybierać. I to jest świetne. Mam nadzieję, że w następnej części spotkamy się z Mariną, bo chcę się dowiedzieć, dlaczego Machan jest aż tak wyjątkowy.

As with the prequel, I found the story grandiose!
I love how one tiny thing leads to a bigger one and how Anastaria and Mahan become more and more friends over time.
A little bit sad was just, that his officers are not important at all.
I’m pretty curious which other famous players will join his clan over time.

אהבתי את זה שהמבנה הרגיל של סיפורים נשבר פה לגמרי, הדמות הראשית קופצת ממקום למקום ומקווסט לקווסט בצורה משוגעת ועוד איכשהו מצליח לחבר את זה בצורה שעובדת.
זה אומנם היה ברור שהולכים לסלוח לו על מה שהוא עושה בסוף, אבל ההתעקשות שלו להתנהג בצורה אצילית בלי שום סיבה שוב ושוב, כולל לוותר על מתנות מדמויות בעלות השפעה אשכרה גרמה לי לחשוב שהוא הולך לדפוק לעצמו את העתיד באימפריה לקראת הסוף.
לא ברור לי למה לעזאזל הוא שומר מעל 300 נקודות ללא השמה שלהם, אני מבין שהוא יכול לחזק אותן ככה "בחינם" ורק אז להשתמש בהם, אבל זה כבר קצת מוגזם.
מצד שני, הוא מקבל נקודות בצורה כל כך אקראית וציוד כל כך מטורף כל הזמן שכנראה הוא בכלל לא צריך אותם.
אהבתי מאוד את איך שהסצינה שהוא הופך לדרקון מגיעה משום מקום, זאת היתה הפתעה נחמדה מאוד שתקעה אותי על הספר אפילו שתכננתי לעצור רגע לפני זה לאותו יום.

This is a reread of this series and my opinions, reviews, and stars will be from my second read-though of this series.

This is one of my favorite books in the series. Mahan is finally in the real work and we really start to get to know Anastaria and Plinto as well as see the rest of the crew from the mines. Even though Mahan is still the point of view character, he can get irritating by not knowing things that he should know. Things tend to just happen to him which gets frustrating. However, I think the others that he is playing with are really interesting and complex characters which makes me more interested in everything going on. We are getting deeper into what it means to be a shaman and we get to meet the vampires in this book.
Mahan is starting to realize that he is incompetent in some areas especially regarding to rules, contracts, and negotiations. He has stated that he was a lone player for his old account, and it is really starting to show. He is does not always realize where is not as good and his assurance that he is great frustrate me.
He does, however, start to understand the world around him with his shamanism and he does make interesting choices during this book. Overall, I believe that this book was very entertaining and enjoyable.
