While the idea is still kind of neat with making the princess be a-typical, this series is starting to be a little too cheesey. Still a fun quick read.

I appreciate that the "falling in love" portion of the book was subtle. Not a main focus. It made me happy.

An enchanting series with great characters, and lots of fun paying homage to, and poking fun at, all the classic fairy-tale tropes.

*squeals* I was worried about this ending in a romance. I like single Cimorene. But her refusing to marry didn't actually have to do with not wanting to get married. I wasn't sure I liked this king though. Very immature in the beginning... But she kind of was too. So I decided early on they deserve each other. But actually they do, for their good aspects too! And then I really liked how they came to mutually respect each other. Thats a good basis for a marriage. I don't think I agree that that they're necessarily in love yet... Man, I'm hard to please, aren't I? But they do suit and Queen of the Enchanted Forest sounds perfectly suited to her too. So when he proposed I kind of fangirled. Haha.

This was really fun, but the first one is my favorite without contest.
