This is a really fun and endearing YA contemporary! I really enjoyed David Yoon's writing style.

Really sweet love story for "all the beautiful nerds" out there. Super cheesy and predictable but also super fun and enjoyable. Reminded me of Can't Buy Me Love but with a more diverse cast of characters.

This was an interesting story! There was parts that I enjoyed and others that I just cringed at... like second hand embarrassment!!! The instant love was a lot and maybe because I am old but it just felt... a lot!!! But it had some cute moments... and Grunner was the best character!! His growth was amazing !!!

dnf’d at page 118.

my main issue with this book is i’m just not a fan of the writing style. (which is obviously an opinion and different for everyone.)

i also don’t think the characters are very likable. like they’re not un-likable, but i’m not interested in them enough to keep reading.

so, that’s my review on this book haha. i don’t really have a lot to say.

age rating (from what i’ve read): 13+

I really liked this novel at the time that I read it! I don't think it stuck with me as much after reading, but I know that when I was reading this novel I was absolutely devouring it. Thinking back to that reading experience I still get all the fluffy giddy happiness that this novel brought me. And as this was a lockdown read for, it was exactly what I needed to keep my spirits up and keep my mind off things.

Loved the romance aspects, thought they were very cute. My only real qualm was that I wasn't the biggest fan of the ending, though it did tie the narrative together quite nicely. I'm tossing up because I think this book was more of a 3.75 stars for me, however, because I enjoyed reading it so much, I've chosen to go with four stars.

DNF there is only so many times I can read/watch the trope were the guy lies for most of the book.

Overall, a romcom that may not have the tropes for everyone.

I received an ecopy of this book via Netgalley; however, my opinions are my own.
