this reads like an attempt at girlbossification of Patrick Bateman while using a thesaurus for every other word. it's predictable, empty, and pretentious.

3/3.5???

When I started reading this and noticed how similar the protagonist was to Hannibal but a woman I was OVER THE MOON ok??? I wanted to love this SO bad and thought this was written for me but...

Something never fully clicked with me for some reason, maybe it was because the story felt really repetitive or because I wasn't a fan of the writing or how the events were told... i can't tell you exactly

Overall a little disappointing but that's not the book's fault I think

The main character is a freak and the prose is beautiful. I love food related media and the food is described very well…among other things of course. I read sections out loud to girlfriend because they were both incredible and outrageous. She’s even bi

I support women's rights but most importantly women's wrongs.

2.5 Stars. Dorothy has more depth than Patrick Bateman, is more likable, and has a more relatable, nuanced psychopathy than him. Unfortunately the details of her murders contained glaring flaws that brought me out of the internal reality of the story. The plot was meandering and predictable. The interspersion of gourmet treatises were as delightful as Ellis's 80s pop music essays.

I would read more from Summers in the future.

I liked the descriptions of food more than the rest of the book, I think that says a lot, even though I'm a fan of horror and cannibalistic themes and was very excited in the beginning
like, it's a good book, i guess, but it's bad in various aspects and the writing style is not my cup of tea (“I tasted the bleach-and-umami flavour of his precum” what.)
interesting plot though?? idk, good but not that great
