I pretty much knew I was going to love the book. I have now read it in print and listened to the audible both and loved both. The audible narrator did it justice. I had originally seen the film too so I knew I loved the story, but I wanted to check out the book anyway. I will share this with my kiddos eventually when they are old enough to not freak out about the subject matter and little bit of language that is prudent to the characters. This novel is rich in character and prose. It has important messages on feminism, abuse, racism, and religion.
