A bit farfetched, but I really enjoyed spending so much time with Miss Marple. I think the better books in the series are those where Miss Marple takes a more prominent role.
I also enjoyed the domestic issues plaguing Miss Marple and watching her slowly lose her patience with her new house companion. The dynamic between her and the detective was great, and I also loved getting to see some recurring characters.
The mystery itself was satisfying, and even though some of the relationships were a bit too contrived, it was still a good story.

excellent mystery as always ofc but the book is peppered with sexist and Boomer remarks for no reason at all which is off putting
Alright, so I jumped into "The Mirror Crack'd Side to Side" without knowing what to expect. At first, it felt a bit slow. But as the story unfolded more like towards the end, I got hooked .
Despite the slow start, the book ended up being pretty intriguing. If you're into mysteries that keep you guessing, this one's worth checking out. And can someone explain to me why the butler?

The plot was alright but that's about it for me.
+ Liked that Marina Gregg was the murderer. The hint of Heather being sick all there years ago was a nice one.
- Miss marple (for me) is boring. Really boring.
- some things felt just to be too much. The mysterious adoption kid that also appeared to be present at the murder for example. Felt like Christie just threw that in to add another chapter with a fake lead (I have nothing against fake leads, as long as they are plausible and not tooo detailed)
- took a little long to get started
- all the interviews with the suspects didn't really interest me.

This is my first Agatha Christie read, and I’ve got to say I can see why she’s such a popular author. If not for the book club schedule slowing me down, this would have been the perfect book to curl up and read on a rainy weekend afternoon! A short and simple read with a fun, interesting plot that had me theorizing all throughout. None of the plot twists ever felt too out there, and the ending, though I didn’t fully expect it, really pulled everything together in a neat way! And my favourite bit, Miss Marple herself being a stubborn little old lady and being annoyed by her live in servant - a very welcome source of humour that fully upped the cozy vibes of this book! Would recommend :)
