Obvs a fun book. Easy to read. Quick. Suspenseful. I honestly had no idea who did it. But I have some questions about other things that happened that weren’t totally explained. Like ... what the heck about the butler and the assistant. Were they working together? Were they blackmailing each other? Jason? I don’t get it. Where are the other kids? What happened to them? Are they ok? Is Mr. Badcock going to marry Mrs. Bain? I JUST HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
A little slow to start and on the predictable side, but the dialogue is charming and plotting is as intricate as ever. Throws some curve balls at the end to keep you on your toes and has a good conclusion. A solid B+ Christie; notable more for Ms Marple’s ruminations on youth, changing fashions, and high-carb breakfasts.
