A quick, quirky middle grade book. Not as clever as the first book of the series, but it does give the awful parents from the original a chance for redemption. Disappointed that we did not see more of the Barnabys and Jane.

It was satisfying to read similar to the willoughbys everything comes together in the end it’s an obscure book with clever ideas and bits of information. The ending wasn’t something I really liked and it wasn’t nearly as satisfying as the original book. The modern references in this book take away from it. There is too much going on to get a good understanding of any of the characters and details are skipped over. This seems like it was only written to profit off of extra interest in the book since the movie. While it was well written it lacked a certain care and thought.

Finally the worst parents get an ok redemption in this quirky second part to the Willoughby's story. I would say I liked the first book a bit more, but this is a solid continuation of that story.

not terrible, and perhaps even funny at times, but it certainly did not live up to it's predecessor.

Book #2 in my "Summer of Lois Lowry" series
The sequel to The Willoughby's was just as funny as the first book. The children are now all grown up, but they still have to face various obstacles. I'm quite enjoying reading through all of Lois Lowry's books.

Like the first book, parodies the classic children's books of the Victorian era with hilarious wit and charm
