A very basic board book about some of the different head coverings that people of different faiths wear. For a board book, it works, but I would actually love to see a more in-depth picture book about this topic that actually explains each head covering rather than just naming it. But for a way to normalize rather than otherize people of different faiths, this is a great start.

This beautifully illustrated board-book introduces us to the head-coverings of different people from different faiths ranging from Muslims to Orthodox Jews. The phonetic pronunciation next to the written word is useful for the parent reader to support their child and the pictures of the people are bright and colourful with single-colour backgrounds inviting us to just focus on the person. This book is a lovely idea but I wanted more information at the back for the parent so that they can elaborate on any discussion that could take place. A lovely message at the end too.

Very straight-forward and basic in the text, but definitely one I'd add to my library collection. I wish there were a few more examples within the book, and maybe even beyond a board book.

Not comprehensive but a good start on the discussion of head coverings.

This book is an excellent introductory lesson to different Faiths around the world. As a child, I only really learned about Judaism and Christianity. I never had books that taught me of other religions. This book is an easy read with beautiful illustrations. It is perfect for beginning discussions about diversity and faith in younger children. Overall, this book sense a message of harmony and unity, stating 'Learning about each other makes it easy to be more understanding. Being understanding helps us spread love and peace'. Children are never too young to learn about the beauty of diversity, and this book is an excellent start.
