I would be grateful for someone to explain to me why I always struggle with the last remaining chapters of a Stephen King novel. I found with Salem’s Lot, that there a lot of unnecessary chapters at the end and I did just want the book to finish. Please don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved this read and would sit for hours reading in the evening with a glass of wine. However, similarly to other Stephen King books, I just felt the ending could’ve happened sooner.

I found the Passage, by Justin Cronin to be an improvement on The Stand. 'Salem's Lot is a huge improvement on Dracula. The whippoorwills were a lovely touch.

King is quickly becoming one of my fave authors. This was a slow-enough burn, but I couldn't put it down. Great story, loved it.
