For the most part, I loved this. Cole was a great love interest, and his trauma was so interesting to follow. However, the trauma plays a part in this book's downfall - the final 75 pages bring the level of this book down massively. Violet was never my favourite character, but those pages solidified the reasons why. Her optimism becomes toxic by the end, to the point where her comments seemed irrational and hurtful for no reason other than a childish tantrum.
Giving someone a two week deadline to come to terms with their trauma is ridiculous. It can take months or years for someone to decide they want to tackle PTSD.
I also felt as though Vaughn behaved very out of character in this book - he wasn't his broody but soft self, but felt like a completely different person.

If the ending had been different, this would have been near perfect!

Elsie Silver is amazing, talented, brilliant, incredible… I cannot get enough of her books!!

The banter and sexual tension between Cole and Violet was spectacular. Also the horses were an adorable added bonus.
