I really enjoyed the audio of this book and the narrater did a great job. It kept me entertained the whole way through. The story is engaging and rings as a potential true life experience for some. It is nicely paced and many of the main characters are very likeable. It stirred a variety of emotions within me, satisfying my bookish senses.

I found Silver Sparrow very enjoyable from the word "go." Jones' prose is often very stirring and personable, and the way she hopscotches between generations telling their story is smooth as a fresh shave. SS is probably the clearest character study I've read in a minute; it seldom really tells you why someone's doing something, and is much more about how the characters live with each other's decisions. That can feel a hair frustrating at times--we're denied Dana's POV behind some of the likely wildest parts of her story--but if you take it as a feature and not a bug, it works well in that context.
That and yeah, fine, okay, I'm always going to get kind of played by a story about a mother, a young child, and not a lot of money.

I decided to read Silver Sparrow after finishing An American Marriage, which I loved, and I can say the same for this book. I enjoy the author's writing style and the story was engrossing, especially with the two different narrators.
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship and Miscarriage
