I actually ended up really enjoying this one. Hurtt's art is art is very effectively expressive and has enough. I love the mix of gothic horror, wild west and fantasy in this book. If one was to drop Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lord of the Rings and Deadwood in the blender, this is the sort of story I think you'd get.

A thrilling western about a chase for cursed guns. This has everything you would want in a fantasy story as well as everything you would want in a traditional western. It's only the first volume of the series, but it tells a complete story that sets up for the continued adventures. If you liked the Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare DLC from years ago, check this book out.

Graphic novels are impossible to write reviews for. They're only a brief part of an impossibly long story arc. What can I say except I enjoyed the premise, the illustrations were vibrant, and I have mid to high hopes for the overall series? It's a violent, paranormal western. Very creative, with twists that are impossible to predict as the world is so flexible. I'm still on the fence for how I feel about the villains. They're evil, sure, but their weaknesses seem too easily exploited. I will have to leave off my decision about them until the next volume.

During the time of the Civil War, a group of heartless men come into possession of six pistols with strange and evil powers. Then one day, the Sixth Gun (the one with the most dangerous power) vanished. Years later, Becky, a young, innocent girl gains possession of the Sixth Gun and the cutthroat men, long thought dead, come after her to regain the gun and it's magnificent powers. The only person who can help Becky is Drake Sinclair - a gunslinger with a shady past of his own.

This is the first comic that I read on my nook and it looked beautiful. I was impressed with the colors and the drawings. I also liked the setup for this comic series. It's a western which is considered a mostly dead genre but it's got a bit of science fiction mixed in. The characters were developed well enough to get me invested in them but not quite enough that their mystery was gone. I'm looking forward to seeing more in this series.

Post Civil War/Western with a supernatural twist and heavy on the action. The story revolves around the possession of 6 mystical guns, each with its own power (raising dead, shooting fire, etc.), that when all brought together can open a demonic portal. Of course.

The second series collaboration from the creators of the excellent supernatural noir thriller [b:The Damned |1220508|The Damned Volume 1 Three Days Dead|Cullen Bunn|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1181999063s/1220508.jpg|1208989] offers a creepy, magic-infused Western complete with terrifying beasts -- living and undead -- gunfights, and the occult. Confederate General Oleander Hume seeks out the Sixth Gun, the key to unlocking an unstoppable power. Mysterious gunslinger Drake Sinclair protects the young Becky Moncrief, current owner of the powerful Sixth Gun, against Hume and his magically-enhanced henchman. Picked up this on whim -- well, really based on the cover art, which promised a fun action-packed Weird West adventure. The book delivers on the promise, throwing the reader straight into a full-on pulp tale about a race to locate the titular gun, the missing one in set of magical pistols. There's a mysterious and not-altogether-nice stranger looking for them, along with a fairly ruthless set of Pinkerton agents hired by a mysterious bordello mistress. But before long, they are joined by an undead Confederate General, rescued from his exile by a band of truly creepy evil henchmen. And of course, soon enough, there's a female to be rescued, a colorful sidekick joining the party, with guest appearances from the Thunderbird and various undead creatures. The mix of magic, horror, and post Civil War wild west elements are blended in just the right proportion for a rollicking read. The artwork is lively and detailed, with great colors that manage to convey the dark tone without getting murky or muddy. It'd make a great basis for a TV series, or maybe a role-playing game, but as much fun as it is, one volume was probably enough for me for now.

Beautifully cinematic weird western with a horror element. It even gave me some feels at the end. Check it out!
