A second chance romance by Laura Kaye? Sign me up!

I must admit that I am impressed by how wonderfully Laura Kaye wrote Kenna and Griffin and also the past relationship between the two, the aftermath, and the demons that they struggle with in the present. And the whole BDSM. I am always nervous about reading these books because sometimes it seems more about how crazy the scene can get instead of drive to serve and please that a sub/Dom are supposed to have with each other. But Kaye did a wonderful job writing the scenes of Kenna and Griffin together as well as pulling in their romantic interest of each other.

Kenna was a badass former Marine who seeks out a membership to Blasphemy again in hopes to see Griffin but also so that she can clear her mind of the guilt that she holds. Her struggles after coming home from serving were realistic and well written. Griffin’s guilt of letting Kenna go five years ago and his determination to keep her now made him oh, so sexy. Well, everything made Griffin sexy.

I look forward to reading the other master’s stories in this series. This is the second book in the series and Kaye has done a wonderful job thus far.

This is too close to Masters of the Shadowlands.

I don't think I've ever read anything from Laura Kaye that I haven't loved. So excited about this new series!

Kenna and Griffin have a past and after years apart they reconnect. I'm a sucker for second chance love stories. I did enjoy this story but wished there was more of a build up with the main characters. They have a history and chemistry but it was hard for me to feel that connection. Kenna is also suffering from PTSD and I loved how Griffin stepped up to the plate to help. The storyline was good and I did enjoy the story but I was left wanting more after it ended. Hopefully in the next book we can get more with this couple. If you're a fan of BDSM I think you will enjoy this book.

Kenna & Griffin’s story is so perfect. I love the raw vulnerability of Kenna trying to put her life back together after her injury. The spice is great as well.

I am loving the world Laura is creating for us! I can wait to read more about Blasphemy and its masters. I love this book in particular because of the Kenna. Kenna is an amazing character and I love how Laura brings characters in that aren’t perfect, that have scars, and that are sometimes broken. These characters are my favorite because they are real. There were parts of this book that made me cry because I have met many battle scared service men and women in my life and their struggles and survivors guilt is very real and Laura does a great job at bringing that to life and not “sugar coating” it.
Thank you for these characters.

PS: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARINES!
