“macbeth“ or “the tragedy of macbeth” by william shakespeare

this is one of my favourite plays by shakespeare. it might even be my favourite of them all.

i love macbeths character. i love the way shakespeare plays with emotion in this play and how one plays a bigger role than the other. a sliver of hope and a lot of greed could make an honest, brave and ambitious man like macbeth kill his own king, the one whom he respects and honours over everyone else.

So, I actually didn’t read this version but another one that’s not on here. Because the version was written in Old English, I had difficulty getting a great understanding of what was going on. I could figure out the main plot points, but that was it.

I did enjoy that it was written as a play. This is the first time I read one, and I was surprised at how much I liked it. Because it’s a play, it focuses more on the dialogue and not on the scenery. It is mentioned, just as the music and such, but the dialogue is the main focus. The only negative part about this was the fact that not a single character was described in any way. Names were given, but no descriptions. Of course, with an actual play, this is not needed, so I understand the meaning behind it, but for me, it made me not connect with the characters that much.
