Dead drop is ok, the second half picks up especially with that plot twist!

I like that Kai is a big lovable dumb jock and Leon is a tattooed nerd with a serious hard on for murdering Kai. The two will make a loving pair of bros by the end of book 3, I guarantee it.

Also… is J really dead? Seems sus.

I think it must take a certain level of brain damage to enjoy this type of book as much as I’m doing right now, but I’ve never claimed to be anything as mundane as sane. Things are dialed up to 11 in this installment as Danny is trying to unveil secrets, dodge betrayals, and keep herself alive. All while two fine af men vie for her attentions.

First of all, I have an apology to make. Leon, sorry I thought you were uninteresting at any point in this series. You my man, are the whole package. Nerdy smart, Machiavellian when needed, and singularly unhinged when it comes to Danny, so unapologetically bloodthirsty it’s adorable. A combination of torture/murder/threats is their foreplay. Kai is still super sweet and all, but the dear man is so clueless and confused it’s half endearing and half pitiful. Big himbo energy. While Leon and Danny come off as equals, damage and loose screws and all, Kai always feels a step behind, even as he has delusions of “protecting” Danny with his caveman nonsense. Still, he’s like the conscience in this dynamic (I’m being relative here) so I guess there’s balance. Not that I still know where things will eventually head romantically. Although it does get kinky and scorching hot up in this book.

As things progress with her and the big brutes, what I love the most is how Danny does not take any bullshit from either of them. She has both wrapped around her finger, and while pesky emotions are starting to appear, she does not let them change who she is at the core. Which is a tough effing bad arse. Her kink is her men doing unspeakable things for her, and to her, and every single heinous act they commit in the name of their obsession is an incredible rush. Told you, take your moral compass out, put it in a little box, and set it safely aside before you read these books.
