As with her first book, It’s Always The Husband, Ms. Campbell weaves a tale that will have you swearing you know what’s going to happen, and feeling pretty proud of yourself. Then, in the last chapter, throw it all out the window. Love the writing style, and detail. This book had great characters....at times you wanted to shake them, yell at them, hug them. So appreciate the details in her writing.

This is like if Pretty Little Liars had been good. I really enjoyed the setting, premise, and buildup of the narrative, although there’s not much of a twist. Overall I was engaged, but the ending felt a bit flat. It’s more of a “this is how this led to this and everything spiraled out of control” kind of book.
What a ride She Was the Quiet One was! It took off like a shot from the very beginning and didn't let go until the crazy end. Teenage twins lose their mom and are forced to live with their wealthy grandmother, who send them to a boarding school. A young couple become the head of the house on the boarding school campus. Affairs, a murder, girls who are out of control, a stalker, and so much more. Loved this book!
She Was The Quiet One tells about the shattered complexity of sisterhood; I loved the premise of the novel – the academic/boardinghouse house environment, the scandals, and the toxicity of teenagers. Unfortunately, I found the plot to be quite predictable to the point of falling to a trope. What I really liked about this book was the way the author handled the pendulum-like swing of sisters. This book makes a contrast between the privileged, angst- ridden teenagers of the school, and the more quiet Sarah Donovan. So the book does address the turmoils of fitting, of relationships and sexual affairs, and of the people we keep close, but what makes it interesting is that we see it from the perspective of a teenage and of a married woman. If you enjoy drama and scandals, She Was The Quiet One is the one to pick up!

What a ride of a novel. Without giving much away I can say I was enthralled, disgusted, riveted, proud, furious, etc... That ending! Unexpected and gives the title a whole new meaning than the one you get through the rest of the book (probably doesn't make sense)
I can't wait to read another of her books!
