Bel and Rose Enright are twins, but they could not be more different. Rose loves academics and following the rules. Bel is a rebel and makes her own rules. After some changes in their family, the girls end up at the prestigious Odell Academy in New England. Bel falls in with an unsavory crowd and is pitted against her sister. Bel starts to obsess over Heath, her advisor/teacher and the husband of Sarah, who Rose adores. As the story continues you begin to wonder who could have committed the crime, and better yet, can any of them really be trusted? I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved that the chapters were told in different POV and even pulled the investigation into parts of its own. The plot was pretty original and unpredictable, which I always appreciate! rating: 3 out of 5 stars ⭐️

This was great! I loved all the twists in the plot and the end was perfect.
Innan jag blir sådär gnällig igen: det här är en helt okej deckare, av klassisk typ. Brittisk internatskola, bitchiga tjejer, snygga lärare o.s.v. Jag är en stark förespråkare av upplägget. Men sedan ska ju utförandet hålla också.
Här håller det - okej. Språket är funktionellt (inte mer, men inte heller mindre), historien någotsånär vettig (med genvägar deckare trots allt kräver), karaktärerna lite lagom personliga (stereotyp-gränsen undviks med liten marginal).
Fast... (nu kommer det gnälliga): den är minst 100 sidor för lång. Saker tjatas runt tills jag inte bryr mig vem som tror vad. Ändå blir vissa storylines ytliga - jag är inte med på varför alla gör det de gör, varför vissa relationer ser ut som de ser ut. Trovärdighet är inte den här genrens starka sida, men vissa grejer polisen gör är rent löjliga. Och sista sidorna? Snälla författare, vi har sett den twisten 17 miljoner gånger de senaste åren.

Rose and Bel are twin sisters starting new. Their mother has passed and they were sent to live with their rich grandmother, who sends them off the a prestigious boarding school.
During the first few days at Odell Bel finds herself in with the wrong crowd of wild girls who pressure her into petty competitions and hazing her sister. The girls relationship is shattered and Rose turns to Sarah Donovan, her advisor and dorm head. Bel on the other hands turns to Sarah’s husband Heath Donovan, a charming and ambitious teacher.
Rumours begin flying about Bel and Heath being in a relationship, and apparently there is proof.
Not long after, Bel is found Dead and the main suspect appears to be Rose. Rose is adamant that she did not kill her sister, but was attacked by the same person who did.
Sarah believes Rose and tries to start filling the blanks alongside the police investigation.
This novel is from the POV of multiple characters and has many twists and turns in uncovering lies, secrets, affairs, and murder.
It was a slower read for me, I’m not sure if that was because of the book or myself being busy the last month, but it was still a good read that I would recommend!
