dont get me wrong, if this books main message was the representation of discovering identity and coming out as non-binary in ben’s situation, it was perfect.
but some of the side plots were a wee bit off to me, ben’s relationship with nathan felt quite unrealistic to me, and after getting used to ben’s personality, then them randomly bringing out the jokes after not wanted to even talk to anyone felt a little ehhhhh? you know, it felt like it wasn’t them

i did love the representation in this book very much, and i feel like its a very good book for non-binary or trans youth to read, but if representation isn’t what you came for, i feel you won’t like this book

love this book, there arent many books with a nonbinary main character, let alone a nonbinary love story. this book is definitley very entertaining and i reccomend it to anyone looking for a good lgbtq+ coming of age story. can get a bit cheesy/cliche but the story is still good.

This bookwas really painful but also really good and important and so relatable and affirming and for that I'm very thankful and I think I always will be.

Please do look up the trigger warnings before diving into this. Deaver does deal with them very, very well, if I might say so.

Great queer-rep, BIPOC-characters, a neuro-divergent girl and an MC that is SO FUCKING RELATABLE. How could I rate this anything below 5 stars. All the characters, but especially Ben and Nathan, have my whole heart and I am  this close to immediately rereading this one. It utterly deserves the free slot on my all-time-favs-shelf.
