I've wanted to read this book since I first heard about it. But, with what I heard, I also knew I didn't want to read it until I had all three books in hand (I believe the second had just come out when I heard about this book). So it's been high on my to-read list since the third book came out. When the boxed set (kindle version) went on sale last week, I jumped at the chance to buy them. So far I am loving the series. I like the conversational style of the writing. I like seeing the relationships in this book, those already in place as the ones that develop. I also liked how places they went and things they did were described. This book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger...but luckily I have the next one ready to read as soon as I finish writing this review.

The premise behind this book was too intriguing to pass up. I really like Charlotte and her ability to eat real food and be okay with it. I like that she is tall and owns it, but still tries to be inconspicuous. I like that she knows herself and makes no apologies for it. I like that she has the courage to do what is best for herself and those she loves.

This book was sweet and clean. The ending left me curious and wondering, so I already downloaded and started reading the second book. I was kind of annoyed when I found out that there were more books, but it works. I hope I enjoy the other two as much as this one.

Fun but somewhat slow paced. There were a lot flashbacks to old boyfriends and past hurts that I did not care for. However, Charlotte has sense of humor that kept me reading and I intend to read the second book.

This is about a story of a girl in the quest to find her soulmate. Charlotte had dated a few guys and soon after they broke up with her, they got married to someone else. Thus the nickname, husband-maker. She always refused her friend's Jayne's attempt to match her with Kyle, the son of a famous senator. Until one day she gave in and met with Kyle. Kyle was the perfect gentleman, handsome, charming and came from a good background. Until Charlotte realised that living under the limelight was never her calling. And their romance had to end.

This book is a nice, light chicklit. I'm very excited to find out what happen in the next book, but have trouble getting my hand on them as the Kindle store doesnt allow me to buy the book from the US store from Indonesia. Would love to read the next 2 books from the same author. Recommended for a holiday reading, something that you just can't put down.

everything Karey has written I have truly enjoyed and this book is no exception. I THOUGHT I knew how the book was going to end...but boy was I wrong! In fact, there is a cliffhanger so it is good that there is going to be a book to follow this called The Match Maker. I would have been so upset if there was no follow up book to explain this ending...although now that I think about it I think I know the person in question.

I also like that these are clean books - the biggest thing is heavy kissing, and then even not much of that. It is nice to see an author that can write a story and not rely on sex scenes to make the book.

I received The Husband Maker in return for an honest review as part of the tour hosted by I Am A Reader book tours. Charlotte hasn’t had luck finding the right guy but every guy she’s dated has ended up married to the next girl he dates after her. She’s been called the “husband maker” because even the ones who aren’t ready to settle down do with the next one. Charlotte is hesitant when her boss pushed her to date one of her husband’s friend, but decides to give it a shot.

Charlotte had a couple of dates with Kyle but it was the one with the hot air balloon that sealed their fate. They both found what they were looking for, happy going out or just staying home for the evening. Things aren’t perfect they both come from different worlds while Charlotte is a normal girl who works hard Kyle is the son of a politician who wants to follow in his dad’s footsteps. When Charlotte accidently speaks to a reporter at a function, she didn’t expect her words to be twisted into lies. Can she deal with being attached to a man when she has to watch how she acts?

Oh I loved Charlotte right from the start after all her story takes play in the same area I happen to live. So when she’s doing promotional stuff for the jelly bean factory I was like “hey I’ve been there before many times”. I found it easy to connect with Charlotte she’s just a really great person one of those you want to be friends with. I really like Kyle for he’s into her needs as well as his own and he really loves her. However I also like Angus and could see him being the one for Charlotte and felt like he is single because he loves her.

When I received the tour invite I didn’t read the synopsis just signed up because I Am A Reader has always had fantastic books clean romance which is my favorite. I was pleasantly surprised that Charlotte lived near me which just made me fall in love with the book. I love the idea of her being just a normal girl who finds love by chance with a great guy, that she doesn’t need the extravagant dates. I started and finished The Husband Maker in one day only stopping to read when the kids needed something. My only complaint is it’s a cliffhanger and I need the next one because I’m dying to know what’s going to happen with Charlottes love life as well as Kyle and Angus. I really enjoyed the fact that the book is a sweet, fun, emotional roller coaster that keeps you wanting more. I love the authors writing style it’s easy to get lost in the story I felt like I was really with Charlotte which for me is the sign of a great book. I know I’ll be impatiently waiting for the next one. If you like clean romance I highly suggest you check it out.

No, she's making a big deal that this 35 year old guy doesn't have gray hair or wrinkles. Seriously? 35 years old? Forget this book!

Fun, light, read

A calm read, this story has a light romance with hints at more. Seeing as it is only the first book, the ending left me frustrated but with the desire to read more. The storytelling reminds me of Meg Cabot! Fun!

This was cute. I enjoyed the wholesome story line, but there were times when I felt the dialogue was forced.

Charlotte has many nicknames and she hates most of them. While Charles and Chuck are still bearable, its ‘The Husbandmaker’ tag that she hates the most. Smart, beautiful, witty and sporting, Charlotte has all the qualities that a man could ask for in a girl, yet something always gets in the way for Charlotte. When Kyle Aldsworth enters the scene, Charlottes gives it another chance. Will she walk down the aisle finally?

Charlotte is a girl that I would want to be like. She has all the good qualities that one can hope for. Kyle is a strong, caring and sporting person himself. While they make a good couple, it is just not enough. With Kyle’s political aspirations and by association Charlotte’s time in the limelight may not be what Charlotte wants for life. Usually, I would consider this as a spoiler, that they do not end up together, but the ending left me flabbergasted. Though I can guess who Kyle goes on to marry, I was disappointed that Charlotte didn’t really find the fairy tale ending – yet again. The ending of this installment left me unsatisfied and wanting more – ensuring that I would pick up the next installment in the series. But it also made me not so happy with this installment. The courting and dating period seemed fun but ultimately the individual aspirations came in between them. But I swear if she ends up with Angus at the end, it would be most disappointing.

Overall, this book made for a fun and light read with its not so predictable (well you would expect the protagonists to end up together in a predictable storyline) plot and good and strong narration.
