I'm a huge fan of Anne McCaffrey's dragons and dragonriders, so I will enjoy any story that includes them. This collection of four stories is the first short story collection I have read by McCaffrey, so I found myself wishing that each story had been made into a book. The Smallest Dragonboy is my favorite of the four, but I enjoyed all the others as well.

This is a collection of short stories that take place around the same time as the first three books of the Dragonriders of Pern series. What was great about these stories, is it gives the reader an added glimpse of the world of Pern and the society that lives there. I really can't pick my favorite story because they were all good. If you're a fan of the Pern series, then be sure you pick this up.

This was beautifully narrated by Lee Meriwether. I enjoyed all the stories as classic Pern from Anne McCaffrey.

Love the Pern books and got both of my boys to read them. I'd read one of these stories (Girl who heard Dragons), but none of the rest. Short stories -- good details about Pern and different groups than you normally read about. Recommend

A collection of 4 short stories, 3 published elsewhere and 1 new for this collection. The book itself is adorable...a paperback sized hardcover which makes it a very quick read. The stories were sweet and would make a good introduction into the world of Pern for someone who hasn't yet discovered them. For old fans, they are a fun diversion.

anne mccaffrey is one of those authors everyone read as a child that i somehow missed out on. naturally i had to try her out. mostly it was interesting to trace her influence over things i've read (i already knew sarah monette and elizabeth bear's wolf books responded to pern but i can now see mccaffrey all over naomi novik's temeraire books). the illustrations were pretty nice too. 2.5 stars
