Usually the manga gives the reader a better, more detailed story than the anime adaptation. It seems though that in the case of Shingeki no Kyojin it's the other way around. The plot is not explored in such in-depth manner as in the anime and the graphic presentation is really terrible.

The only reason I did not drop the series is because we need to wait for season 2 of anime another year or more.

Probably my least favourite volume so far. The intrigue is still very much there, and I still like our main characters, but outside of that, there's a bunch of other characters, I don't know who's who and I'm not a big fan of the art style.

Eren the Titan...

The survivors debate whether to trust Eren since he can transform into a Titan. It becomes about an ill advised plan to plug a whole in the wall using the Titan. So in that regard, it felt like not a ton happened here. This is the volume for Armin’s character development so that’s something. It’s your typical war/dystopian character that is somehow still a coward after years of things being truly awful for the human race. However, these stories always have a character like that so I wasn’t surprised.
