I didn’t think things could go more sideways than they already did but now we’ve gone full tilt.

”Okay, so maybe I’m not a great person. I mean, if I’m being totally honest? I think I might be an asshole.”

Still love the dialogue in this, full of sharp comedy and hard hitting lines. Love the comedic way faces are exaggerated in the art style. Love Vita and Charlie in all their messiness. It’s a world you have to suspend your disbelief in, but when you do the non-stop action makes it all fun!

The incredibly fast pace really makes this comic feel like it’s flying by! So much happened in the span of one volume and yet there is still so much I’m excited to learn more about. Lots of underlying mysteries that make me very intrigued.

I also think it’s fascinating just how much Charlie is an unreliable character, how little we actually know about her, and her clear proficiency for manipulation. I can never tell how genuine she’s being and it makes for an interesting dynamic between her and Vita.

Also I’d still die for Dog, he deserves the most.

3.5. If you want a bad ass queer girl story then you’ve found a recommendation in this from me. I love the art, the story is fun, though I do find aspects of it annoying. The characters often treat each other terribly and I’m not a fan of it, but I still think there are merits to their relationship. A really fun overall plot too. Glad to have found it up on Hoopla!

There were moments of genius and great take downs on contemporary culture. But there were a ton of plot holes that just irked me.

I did not like this one as much as the first one, for reasons I can't quite describe. It just wasn't as fun and frenetic as the first volume, I think. I will definitely read the next volume though!
