I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and I'm amazed at the literary prowess of the author. The author's ability to make me feel exactly what the protagonist was feeling was truly remarkable. I experienced every single emotion alongside Kambili, and I'm at a loss for words to express just how much I loved this book. It was exceptionally good—like, really, really good.

An absolute masterpiece. All throughout the book Adichie makes you feel every single thing Kambili feels. The writing is exquisite and perfectly captures the layers upon layers of secrets woven into Kambili's family life.
The sensitive depiction of domestic violence alongside interesting historical political events is beautifully done.
The ending felt a little rushed and the hints of a relationship between Kambili and the priest was super weird considering she is 15.
Despite this, 100% would recommend - could not stop reading it.

A good read, still one of my favorite authors. This one was really dark at times, but Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie doesn’t shy away from complexity and I appreciate that
