i’m not sure why, but this book just didn’t hit for me the same way the others did in the series. i think it’s the way Felix’s character was presented. I LOVE HIM! he’s definitely the black cat to Avi’s golden retriever, but his constant self-sabotaging in the beginning really put me off from enjoying his story for a bit.

that’s not to say that i didn’t enjoy the story overall, though. it was just so hard for me to focus on liking the way the relationship was progressing when it kept stalling because of Felix’s insecurities. NOW, i don’t hate how vulnerable his character was. i actually loved that Avi’s character was crafted in a way to cater to Felix’s needs perfectly, BUT i didn’t like the feeling that Felix was always ready to run away. it never went away for me, even at the end.

NOW, despite all that, i liked the change of scenery compared to the other books. i think putting this chaotic whirlwind of a couple in the middle of nowhere for the majority of the story was beneficial to really seeing these characters develop individually and together. especially since back home they’re surrounded by people, so being in the middle of buttfuck nowhere really made me focus on how focused they were on each other. 💗

THAT’S ALL I’LL SAY ABOUT THAT 🙂‍↕️

I know I’ve said it before, but I love this series so much! Each book keeps getting better and better. And adds more layers to the Mulvaney universe that I want to dive right into.

I loved Avi and Felix! They had such good banter and they would argue, tease, and snipe at each other at every given opportunity. I also loved the fact that everyone around them could see that they were into each other before they did. And I totally agree, Felix is a barbed wire wrapped marshmallow and Avi is a murderous golden retriever. They just fit together so well! Another thing I loved about this book was the little peek we got at Zane and Felix’s queerplatonic relationship. And I can’t leave Aiden out! It was so nice to have his presence more firmly rooted in this book. I can’t wait to see how things turn out for him and Thomas. Mad Man is getting five stars!

Avi and Felix were great. I love that Felix was more on the Fem side and was just a bad bitch. Avi’s personality is not what I thought it would be like after hearing Asa’s story but it worked. I would of loved to hear more about the four of them living together.

I stayed up way too late to finish this and it was amazing. I actually love that they have laid out relationship dynamic before hand and it's them finally getting together. Avi probably shot up to being my second fave brother and just he wants Felix so much. Felix is so confident and insecure and neither are lies. He's a fantastic character I adore him really. Literally these two. Their relationship is kinda my everything. Avi goes out of his way to literally beg Felix to believe him when he says hed do anything for him. They care so dearly for one another. Aiden was a fun aside character this round (the side tension of him and Thomas ahh). I already love Zane and Felix and that instantly adored each other. The plot definitely felt more relationship focused this time around then really the even parts it played before but I really liked that. Anyway it's 445am and I'm gonna regret this so off to bed I go.

I have been waiting for Felix and Avi's book since Moonstruck and it didn't disappoint! I loved them! I also loved seeing what they were up to while Asa and Zane were running their investigation. I want more stories of about the four of them living together because that has to be a trip day in and day out.

Another super fun Murder Family book. It was a lot of fun seeing more of how the twins view each other and how they work. Avi has major murderous himbo energy. In some ways it was the exact opposite of Asa and Zane's (which definitel  plays into the mirror twin dynamic) book which majorly focused on the (admittedly vert interesting) mystery vs the romance. I wished Headcase had had a more romance focus vs Mad Man which I wish had touched a little more on the mystery. I loved the Addams family and Emperors new groove jokes. More Mulvaney family adventures and more time getting to know Aiden. Avi has some really insightful views on his siblings that I hope we get to see explored more. #TheFamilyThatSlaysTogetherStaysTogether
