I'm not sure why this book is reviewed so high it was just an average thriller, with a random and undeveloped romance and a killer who is a random dude that we meet once and is mentioned a couple of times. The twist at the end was not predictable but like the rest of the twists were. I also felt like random stuff kept happening and I was like why TF is this happening rn and also I wasn't scared at all cause no one seemed to take what was happening seriously like how is that thrilling. Also what in the actual fuck was that motive at the end for targetting Paige like seriously??? it made no sense, I literally had to put the book down after reading it to have a wtf did I just read moment. I also think if you're going to have two characters with similar roles in a story who both have father's running for major maybe don't have both of there names start with the same letter. It took me untill 70% into the book to realise they were different characters like when they were mentioned before that I just kept getting so confused with the information I found out about them. And did you guys know the main character is from England and she's moved to America? because it was made painfully clear in the book.

first impression the writing is so easy to read like all her books and i love the whole set up who doesn’t love a good american ya thriller/mystery
it's a bit cringey it feels like a boomer is trying to write relatable gen z characters and not knowing at all how we communicate
gets straight into the action love it and the short chapters are a blessing
appreciate the america slander
alright we're getting right into it
three things seem fishy- justin, the sim card and paige's dad
cj is paige's dad??
i guarantee cj is paige's dad and the dna test will tell her she is nicole's daughter
josh and his dad seem fishy too just everyone seems suspicious that's a police word (new girl reference lol)
yk what would be a great plot twist if tiffany was the murderer
she can't be nicole's daughter cus paige is my age and nicole was pregnant in like 1997 or so
i was right about at least one thing cj is paige's dad (and also that the dna test would reveal something about nicole and paige being linked)
so was the tiffany running away from the killer thing fake cus nicole didn't actually get kidnapped or killed so tiffany was lying??
i feel like she went for the obvious choice with you it was and didn't say they were suspicious before cus it seemed too obvious and she was trying to hard to make them like covertly suspicious so i thought it wouldn't be them
will there be a second book
yeah was really gripping and lots of suspense but ultimately anticlimactic solid thriller
