I was excited going into this book, but it just got slow, and I became uninterested in the plot.

I am sorry to say that this book was very hard for me to finish. I almost threw in the towel but I skimmed to the end. So many plot holes created an unclear world. I also could not stand Delta and the way she expected people to drop everything and help her on her impossible mission.. Convenience was also used to drive the plot.

Thank you Netgalley for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another great book from Erin Bowman! This is an action-packed sci-fi novel that takes place on a dry and desolate planet whose inhabitants are barely surviving. The map on Delta's back holds the key to renewed prosperity in Verdant, but nobody can read it. When Delta's pack is kidnapped by the General and she is reunited with her childhood friend Asher, she discovers that there is so much more that she never knew about her planet than just the location of Verdant.
For fans of: Aurora Rising, Illuminae, Nyxia, and Contagion

I stopped somewhere in chapter 36. I just do not care what happens to this character. There is too much forced into this story.

*Thanks to Netgalley and HMH Teen for letting me read this book early.*

I enjoyed this one so much, especially the world building! Reminiscent of Mad Max and Blood Red Road, this was a fun read about a desert like planet, a tough girl character trying to find her way and the way we believe things shapes us.
