I absolutely loved this book. I could not put it down. I felt as though I was living through Solene. The writing was so real/raw and heartbreaking. How much I loved this book was completely unexpected.

Okay okay okay so the only reason it’s not 5 stars is the slow start and the overall monotony of the first 150 pages. BUT it started to pick up. Then the overall emotional changes that happened with the protagonist were executed perfectly. The ending had me fucked up. I loved the sex scenes. Everything was just so RAW.

After seeing this recommended so many times I decided to give it a go even though the premise didn’t greatly appeal to me. I can see what people mean by elevated fanfic, it manages go a little deeper and more substantive than some others in this genre. Ultimately I still found the age to be a problem. He shouldn’t be 20 and was not written like a 20 year old either, which left me just mentally imagining he’s 24 or 25. Idk it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t for me and I found a few things off putting. I kinda wish she ran off with his dad instead.
