Oh my god. This was not it 🤮

Solene is so jealous and petty, I had to keep reminding myself that she was supposed to be 40. He's not allowed to have previous partners? He's not allowed to talk to models? My god. Grow up.

Oh, so when that happened, she didn't put her daughter in therapy because it means she's "failed"? I can't.

And who's idea was it to have the author narrate the book? She didn't even write the book properly, of course she can't read it either.

I wanted a good beach read, and I got exactly what I wanted. As shallow as expected. I kept waiting for the plot to happen, but there really wasn’t much of it in the end. Too much art-world-name-dropping for my taste. Fun, easy, forgettable. Now I can watch the film :)

I didn't know they made a movie about this not until I finished the book. So my thoughts? It started on a high, led a steady mid, and a questionable ending. I don’t love it, I kind of hated it. But I also can’t deny this: I felt something. The fact that it stirred up hate, admiration, and intrigue means it did what it came to do. And for that, I applaud it. Sometimes the hardest choices aren’t the loud, dramatic ones—but the quiet ones made with the weight of reality in mind. That kind of strength—the kind that costs something real—deserves respect.

I originally thought this book was going to be ridiculous because of the age difference between Hayes and Solene. I went in with an open mind though and immediately fell in love with the story. The book is so well written, clever, and witty. Robinne made me a believer that a 20 year age difference could work. I don't want to give too much away, but I'm really hoping for a sequel. I need to know more about Hayes and Solene.
