Having read [b:Ender's Game|375802|Ender's Game (Ender's Saga, #1)|Orson Scott Card|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1214413570s/375802.jpg|2422333] recently, I enjoyed seeing it illustrated in this graphic novel. However, I found it a bit hard to follow at times, and I think I would have been really lost if I hadn't read the book first.

I think it was a rather good adaptation of the beginning of one of my favorite novels, "Ender's Game." However, I feel that for it to make sense a lot has to be added from memory of the actual novel. Maybe it's just that I love the entire original book that I feel they cut off important parts (like some feel when a book is made into a film). Either way, I definitely enjoyed it and would recommend it to either Ender's Game fans or graphic novel fans.

I enjoyed this for many reasons, nostalgia being one and for the simple reason Ender's Game is one of my favorite novels of all time (if you haven't read it, I would highly recommend that you do). This is a decent adaptation, but woefully abridged from the source material. There's so much left out it's only made me want to go back and re-read the novel (so for that I'm giving it three stars).

The growing trend to adapt classic novels into this format is one I'm on board with -- it's like waiting for my favorite books to get made into movies. And like film adaptations, sometimes the graphic novel format works, and sometimes it doesn't. It works here ... to a point. For me though, there's just too much good stuff left out for it to really work -- especially for those who have not read the novel. It's those readers who will be short-changed the most.

Nice adaptation of part of the novel. It covers the period when Ender arrives at Battle School until he is about to get command of a group. If you have read the novel, you will probably appreciate this a bit more. Marvel does take some liberties here and there, but you do get the feel of the original. I will try to find the next volume in the series. May be time to reread the original novel. Overall, it was ok, and a nice quick read.
