A beautiful poetry collection telling the coming of age story of Paro. I learned a lot about partition and the Hindu Gods and Goddesses! Gill remains one of my favorite poets and this collection was a unique one

I love the way Gill told a very cohesive story was told through poetry. It ended up being an unexpectedly perfect Pride month read! The language was beautiful and the drawings throughout enhanced the artistry of it for me.

I never thought I’d be into a verse narrative, but this was incredible and so easy to breeze through! Emotional, dark, uplifting, inspiring, passionate, and devastatingly vulnerable in the most beautiful of ways!

⚠️TW FOR BOOK⚠️
Mentions of r4pe, SA, xenophobia, sexism, and racism.

5/5
This was the first book I read after not reading for over 4 years and I can say this is an amazing book. I love how the character's are real and make mistakes. They have problems that they have to deal with and it touches on homophobia and racism in a great way. Not to mention it has good LGBTQ rep with the main character being a girl who realizes she is bisexual. You get to see the problems that causes for her because of where she lives and how she comes accept herself. Her whole personality isn't just being bisexual she is well round and relatable. Overall an amazing book that I would definitely recommend.
