I really appreciate how Hiaasen builds a fun, readable story filled with action and mystery around important environmental issues. I also really love the characters he writes to populate the story. He breathes such life into them. My one quibble is that the bad guys are almost always cartoonishly bad, and Dusty Muleman is no exception (neither is his bully, oafish son).

Not as good as his other kids books, and pretty grossology!

A bit of baking ingenuity and a whole lotta flushes later, the Underwoods manage to bring an environmental polluter to account only to lose their final triumph to a wholly unexpected ally.

A typical Hiaasen story with fun, quirky individuals and an environmental cause in the Florida Keys.

I didn't realise Carl Hiassen also wrote children's books l o l

Was fine, but dragged out, would be better as a short story if it were for adults.

I read this when I was 12, and I remember really liking the story and characters. I think this is a great book for anyone of that age range.

This was an enjoyable read. I love the message that these books send! The author does it in such an entertaining way. While this story was a little shorter than I would have liked, everything was fleshed out and came together nicely.

Carl Hiaasen is the author I go to (like John Grisham) when I want a fun, quick, thrilling story. Flush delivers.

What goes around comes around. :)

At first I didn't really get into this story since it felt like another "environmental issue" book by Hiaasen, and that was a large part of the story, but though it got preachy a few times, it didn't completely overwhelm the rest of the story. I'd still pick Hoot over Flush, but not a bad story for kids.
