I was completely blown away by this book. Unfortunately I cannot go into how much without giving too much away. Wonderfully executed. If you want something that engages a troupe and makes it better you are in for a ride. Fair warning this society is doing, and has done, brutal things to each other. It’s at times shocking and devastating. Definitely dark and dangerous. That ending crushed me. I cannot wait for the next one.

I really really enjoyed this! Original, the characters were both intelligent, and genuine inner and outer conflicts that didn't have easy solutions. The ending was gut wrenching, and the twists were genuinely surprising! For once, I thought the dual POV here was perfectly done, and it gave us so much inner turmoil that really drove these characters. It has the whimsy of YA fantasy but the real, gritty components of genuine heartbreak, grief, and guilt. I can't wait for the conclusion!

This book will be the top selling fantasy of 2024. Absolutely captivating from the first chapter. Heart pounding, enemies to lovers, forbidden love, forbidden magic, best friend’s brother. All the best Tropes. The end is gut wrenching and shattered me. The next book can’t come out fast enough.

This book is kind of a mess and I have so many questions (worldbuilding? character motivation? we don’t know her) but it was easy to read and I never hated it so I guess I’ll read the second one lol

Also naming two of your characters Gideon and Harrow should be illegal why did she do that?? To torment me????

A wonderfully written novel that weaves the characters inner turmoil with great world building. The romance is a slow burn that isn't resolved at the end, which I'm happy about.
