Not the best book I’ve read but I did read it in less than 24 hours and I did cry at the end. It’s predictable and very YA written. It’s an easy read.
I loved Alex so much😭

Very good and sucked me in. I love the enemies to lovers thing. It’s a bit predictable but not in a way that takes you fully out of it. More just that you dread what she is going towards.

This was a vibe. Rune and Gideon just *chef’s kiss* so good. Witch and Witch-Hunter mutually manipulating each other for their own reasons and somehow still fall for each other for real.

I slowly became skeptical of Verity as the book went on honestly gaslit myself into thinking there was no way she was a witch let alone Cressida. Jokes on me, lmao. I can’t believe everything she knew and was to Rune was an illusion.

And Alex. Poor Alex. He just loved his brother and Rune so much despite the contradiction of each other. Ngl he wasn’t my fav cause I hated how he kept trying to get Rune to leave and my heart is with Gideon. But like I am sad he doesn’t get the chance to live life…. But also like boi, this could’ve been all avoided if you would’ve just shot Cressida two years ago instead of letting her run away….

I’m IMMENSELY excited for the next book and to see where things go. Still rooting for the enemies to become lovers (again) in the next installment!!!

I enjoyed the plot in this book and love the characters and their development. Rune is a witch trying to right her grief by being a vigilante. Gideon is the captain of the blood guard, a group of witch hunters, who doesn’t know the witch he has been hunting for two years is standing right in front of him.
