I liked how this book was written as everything happening with the weeks of a pregnancy. I also liked the concept of this book. I struggled with how long everything took to set up and was a little let down by the ending. It was really fast at some points and really slow at others. I would have preferred a more solid ending as well. I didn’t hate this book. I just didn’t love it either.

I have mixed feelings about Greenwich Park. The way everything fit together in the end with a twist was very satisfying, much in the same way as Faulkner's The Other Mothers. But the novel is told from the point of view of three women (interspersed occasionally with chapters told in the third-person) and I found Helen, who is perhaps the main narrator, extremely aggravating. She comes across as gullible, naive, and unwilling to stand up and assert herself. Just "wet" in the British sense of the word. Yes, the fact that people walk over her is a key part of her character, but it makes her chapters infuriating to read, and those form a significant chunk of the book.

This book has two very glaring flaws that really ruin an otherwise solid mystery thriller.
The first is that the pacing is painfully slow. I don't think it's a problem that it's easy to piece together a ton of the mystery; the issue is more that I was already figuring stuff out and just waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting to get on with it. The book could have been at least 100 pages shorter and been better for it.
The second flaw is that Helen is, and I say this as gently as I can, unbelievably stupid. I think that it was an intentional decision to make her very naive and genuinely mentally ill to some degree, but there just comes a point where it's just not believable.Like, even if Daniel had not been one of the villains in the end, his behavior during an extremely high risk pregnancy after 3 late term miscarriages? DIVORCE IMMEDIATELY oh my godddddd. If Katie hadn't been a somewhat frequent POV character, I think this would have been a 1-star book.

An easy thriller. Predictable, but interesting enough. The main character was painfully stupid.
