This story just wasn't for me. The writing itself didn't flow well, and I felt like the characters thoughts were constantly jumping back and forth with no rhyme or reason. Even though this is book 1, they way the story started out telling you about things that had happened, I felt like there was another book that I missed. In the first chapter he's watching Stacey outside her window. Then it says "he shifted on his Harley", then it goes back to say that he couldn't hear what she was singing from where he was standing outside the window. Not really sure how that worked. After Troy does take her, it goes pretty quick from a kidnapping to sex. I didn't really buy them together, because he would go from thinking she was awesome to thinking she was spoiled. Stacey went back and forth in her thoughts too. It didn't do anything to make me like them together. This was a first for me from this author, but I would be willing to read her again.
I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

This was a good, quick, easy read. That I did for the most part find engaging. However, I did feel there was something missing with this story. And I at least got the impression from the first couple of chapters that Snatched was part of a series....which it isn't.

I also found it hard to connect with the story and the characters, particularly Troy. Who I really wanted to like. As I love an asshole, but Troy seemed to take assholeness to a whole new level and unfortunately I couldn't really find any redeeming features in him.

Plus, there is a lot of sex in this story. Which for me is never a bad thing. But in this case it just seemed to take over everything else. But if you like your MC romances with guys who are pros at the old treat them mean to keep them keen routine. Then you should certainly check this book out.

I think I'm in love with Troy DeLance, seriously, Stacey is one lucky woman. I love them both though and they are so perfect together. He is a club enforcer, who is basically trying to save her brother from imminent death. She, on the other hand, is a city girl who comes from a rich family and is used to being pampered. They both have plans for their lives but fate has a different plan for them.
Troy doesn't want to do it but he has no choice. He must kidnap Stacey and make her brother pay for what he did, he doesn't believe in killing the man so this is next best solution. However, not everything goes as planned and he might end up hating himself before this whole ordeal is done with.
Stacey can't believe that the person who was so kind to her when her father died is now kidnapping her. She wants to hate him but is quite unable to do so. Because at the end of the day she understands him, his motivation, and his need to do everything he could for his family. Family is everything. And she needs to worry about hers. There is no way she would let anyone hurt her brother. So they are both at an impasse, something needs to change before they can work their relationship out.
It's a very well-written story, leaning towards dark romance, but it's not quite that. There are many sweet, heartwarming moments in there as well. All is all, it's a great read, well-paced and very interesting. I enjoyed reading it and would recommend to all romance lovers.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

This is my first time reading this author, and unfortunately I think it will be my last as well. I just didn't enjoy this book at all!

The plot was very jumpy, which made things difficult to follow. I was quite confused at certain aspects of the story, which made me think that I had been dropped into the middle of a series without having read the preceding books! The sex scenes were very well done, but happened much too soon for my liking in the plotline, and thus were somewhat unrealistic.

The characters were seemingly contradictory as well as also being slightly unbelievable. One minute Stacey's a smart, crafty, and independent woman, then the next she's a "fall at the feet of the big strong man because he's the only one that can give me orgasms" type. Troy/Beast was just an a-hole all around, and I never grew to like him.

Unfortunately, this is not a good example of an MC romance, and I won't be recommending it to others.

Snatched is hard, gritty, and rough. If you are wanting a book with warm fuzzies and sweet feelings, this is not for you. This book bites, scratches, kicks, and hits hard. If you've got nuts, best wear a nut protector.

I'm going to be brutally honest about how I feel about this book because that's how I roll and because I think Ms Ross would expect that of me. I think she gets that not every book is for everyone.

So first off, this book is very well written and I think the writing itself might be some of Ms Ross's best yet. I think technically, she's cranked it up a notch with the quality of her writing. And I could tell she did her research with the club lifestyle and military men in the way she portrayed Troy.

That aside, I also struggled with this book, and I wanted so much to sink into it and enjoy it. This was not an easy seamless read for me. I'm generally not really into books with motorcycle clubs and gangs, and the harsher elements of life but I've read a few I've really enjoyed. This book was different from the others I've read in that it didn't temper all the rough, hard grit that comes with an MC club enough to make the characters approachable and likable. Of course, this is me personally, and if hard as nails men, vengeance, and hate floats your boat, then you may enjoy this.

I'm generally very forgiving of the heroes in a romance and they have to be pretty awful for me to get mad at them. I'm not saying Troy is awful because he's not, but he does some things he feels he's justified in doing and they are truly scary, calculated tactics intended to strike fear into the hearts of the people the actions were directed at. Even if his intentions were honorable and he was genuinely concerned for his sister, I'm not sure I can condone some of his behavior. Had I been in Stacey's position, I'd be equally terrified, angry, and hurt.

Which leads me to Stacey. She's young, impressionable, and slightly vulnerable. She's also somewhat idealistic, if not very trusting. But she gets pushed a little too far and she's hurt, so she retaliates, and she uses words in her arsenal calculated to hurt intentionally as revenge even after a sincere apology and an attempt to make things right. This makes her somewhat vindictive and me less sympathetic to her plight. I understand where she's coming from, but I'm also one to be fairly quick to forgive and I can't tolerate petty acts of revenge. Stacey also gets physically abusive towards Troy and that is something I cannot tolerate. Regardless if he's a big, tough man like Troy who can take it and doesn't even flinch when she punches him in the face. Men cop a heap a flack if they so much as lift a finger towards a woman and yet when a woman does that to a man, no one raises an eyebrow. If it's not okay for a man to hit a woman, it's not okay for a woman to hit a man. And it's even less okay in the context of a romance when the heroine raises her hand against the hero in anger and he can't defend himself or retaliate.

Quotes “I hate you. I hate the way you play with my emotions.” She dug her fingernails into his hands, which were still relentlessly holding hers. “No, you don’t. You’re mad at me. There’s a difference.” “You terrorized me. Have you any idea how much that hurt me?”

Troy and Stacey start off on the wrong foot and they continue to battle it out while being insanely attracted to each other. There's a lot of Stacey being angry and throwing words like "I hate you" around constantly, and Troy overwhelming her with his dominance and his confidence. Between Stacey being hurt and vindictive, and Troy being bullish and domineering, I found it very hard to like either of them. I was trying to find softer, more redeeming qualities in the both of them and that's not how they came across to me.

I tried convincing Steve to read this for a Manview but I'm afraid I didn't sell the story very well. He's not a fan of motorcycle clubs, to begin with, and I don't think he appreciated it when I described the scene where Troy dangles Stacey over the bayou. Scare tactics to the max, man!!

I think this would be a sexy and exciting read for a lot of people but I had a hard time connecting with Troy and Stacey, and that colored my reading experience.

My first book by Cathleen Ross and I would want to read more of her work just to make sure my first impression is not the only thing I have for the future. Don't get me wrong, the book was well done and I enjoy reading it but... I think this author has potential at some level.

The characters were interesting, mostly because I loved the premise of the story: my sister for your sister. It sounds kind of simple but it wasn't I liked that.

My problem with the characters is that I felt the biker act a little crazy at times. It fits with his mean guy kind of look but it did not click with me. At least he admitted he was an a$$hole.

The female protagonist was strong but weak. Nobody is perfect but I liked her the most between them because he was just so close to being too much at times that I just couldn't side with him.

I have my doubts when it came to the first encounter between them but I don't feel, deep down, that it wasn't consensual. It could be seen like that so, I wouldn't be surprised is someone was offended by that encounter.

My favorite parts where when the President of the MC and his wife were in the scene. OMG, that was just so funny and cute to watch, at least for me.

Writing wise I think the author did a great job. I did not find any grammar errors or anything like that, and the vocabulary was simple enough that it was easy to follow. The flow of the story was good and it wasn't cut, for me, at any point during the book.

The twist of the sister left me with interest in the next book. I'm very interested in seeing how this works out.

I would recommend this book to those that love biker romances, just a reminder that this is fiction and that some roughing around might ensue.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book provided by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.
