A good light read to chew on. Orwell is highlighting leftists differing perspectives on socialism through Snowball vs Napoleon. Clearly he’s anti authoritarian and he’s anti Stalin, but the question I’m left with as someone that plays around with anarchism: Does hierarchy inherently create disenfranchisement? Orwell is not a perfect prophet so picking Trotsky vs Stalin feels reductive especially in the current political climate but his stories are great allegories for the ills of general authoritarianism. I also loved digging into the Orwell’s history with socialism in the UK and Spain. It’s a classic for a reason and the featured quotes stay with you. Boxer we love you!!!

Orwell is reliable for good social commentary in the form of a good read. Like 1984, this isn’t the best work of literature I’ve ever read, but it’s a good novel with important messaging.
