I recommend this book to everybody! It's scary how parallel some themes in this book are to things happening in today's real world.
4.75 “the creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but it was already impossible to say which was which.” ABSOLUTE GENIUS and i will never be the same

The book is very short. Very concise. That made it better. If Orwell had tried to drag this book out it would have gotten old. Now, I read 1984, didn't like it. It was boring, I didn't like his writing, and while the premise had promise it just didn't hold any charm for me. This book was an improvement, BUT I still wouldn't say I loved it. The writing was better, but I think that was in part its abbreviated style.
The premise again is interesting. Animals take over a human's farm, driving him off. They write seven commandments, declaring animals equal, denouncing human things like wearing clothes and walking on two legs. Things start out alright, but as time wears on the smarter animals start to take charge and control. The pigs are the masters in this scenario. The other animals are for the most part to stupid to question. They used songs and mantras to solidify their loyalty, and in the end, the pigs are dressing in human clothes, walking upright as humans do, and have changed the slogan to: All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
Now of course, every review you read goes on and on about how crazily accurate this reflects in society, (Stalin and politics and communism, oh my) but this isn't going to be one of those. Not only because I find politics dull, but also because I have hardly a credible leg to stand on when it comes to talking about politics, so I would only make a fool of myself. We'll just suffice with saying that it doesn't need to be said because it's obvious.
Okay, so concluding thoughts, because as you can tell, I'm not really feeling in the mood to tear apart this book in meaningful thoughts, let's just say it's not a bad book, I'm not overly enthralled with it, but it is so short it's probably worth a read; but that said, I wouldn't really feel like I missed out if I'd never read it. So there you have it. Animal Farm.

I love this book. But I often see people read it and suddenly for some reason they think they are the smartest out there.. but, honestly?
Most of them learned nothing.
Most of them learned nothing.

Five sugarcandy stars. The light narration is conducive to a blatant satire and clear view of the mechanisms behind manipulation.
An essential sort of read.
