I have no idea what more I could say as promise for these books! One wouldn't think that Vlad and Leila could have any more adventure and craziness in their relationship! But Mrs. Frost continues to blow my mind with how amazing these books are! I don't want this series to end, I want to keep reading about Vlad and Leila for more than just 4 books, I love this book and this entire fictional universe.

All reviews in one place: Night Mode Reading

This is a far darker, and far greater book than the previous two. The pace is perfect, with one episode following the other one closely, with only this much room to sit and talk it out. Szilagyi continues to harass Vlad and his household, pushing wedges where he can’t pull allies. A turncoat thus soon appears in prince’s flock. And in disguise of napalm bombing of his home, they steal his wife away, where she successfully get’s tortured physically, and mentally. Szilagyi is confident that he found a way to break the prince once and for all, thus he speaks, and we find out why he’s such a disgusting rat’s ass. But little does this bastard know, that he’s dealing with people who do not believe in limitations, and who dearly trust in one another.

Vlad spares nothing in search for Leila, trusting she’ll do all it takes to survive until he does find her. This is officially a war between the two vampires, and maybe that’s just for the best. Vlad pulls favors, finds people, and lets us in on his past, all the while keeping a sharp, if a bit rude eye on Leila’s family, still caring for their safety. There is no doubt in his heart that he’ll find the bastard, and at last squish him. But of course, surprises await, bad and good for both sides. Curses, bindings, and unexpected family members from the old Dracul line of Basarabs.

So, yes. This was amazing. I loved it to bits. Which, sadly, means I’ll keep the final one unread for as long as I can. This one pulled me out out of a very dark place. 5 out of 5, well deserved.

I don't know how many times I have to say this: VLAD IS AWESOME!

Omg, I love that guy so much! Frost's Vlad might be my favorite Vlad, too. He's so arrogant, yet not too much. He fights for the ones he loves, won't let people hurt them without paying for it. And he's so funny too!

As a review, this is right up the "this sucks" alleyway, but I don't care. No review will ever portray how awesome this series of books is so just read it already and fall in love with Vlad like I did!

It’s like winning the lottery when Jeaniene releases a book in this series. I thought that I couldn’t love a vampire more than I loved Bones in the original series but Vlad has gotten under my skin for his wonderful relationship with Cat and especially his love for Leila.

This book showed you just how much love Vlad had for Leila and his willingness to tear about the world if needed to keep her safe. *Sigh* And boy does he tear the world apart for her.

I loved the scenes when Leila would feel Vlad’s emotions when he let down his walls. It was so beautiful to see that change in Vlad. He had planned to never love again and then – boom – Leila walks in and we get this wonderful love story.

I can’t wait until the next book (oh no! the last book in the series) but 2016 is so far away. I need to know what happens next because I predict that the is going to be filled with insane action.

Leila knew that falling in love with one of the world's most powerful vampires would have its bumps but she also knew that Vlad was worth it. As these two try to find their balance after so many life changes, dangers from Vlad's past mean dangers in Leila's future. Is there enough trust between them to fight together or will Vlad try to keep Leila safe but in the dark? A really great read in a fun series. Because this is a continuation in the Night Prince series I wouldn't start here but I'm love this series, can't wait to keep going!

~ 4.5 Bound by Flames Stars ~

Bound by Flames is book three in the Night Prince series by Jeaniene Frost.

Amazing! Jaw-Dropping! Astonishing!

Vlad and Leila are trying to make their marriage stronger when an old enemy of Vlad's comes calling, bringing tension and issues to the forefront.

I love Vlad! Yummy! Yummy Vlad! Leila is as kick-ass as ever. This was a fabulous read in the series. Giving us an action packed adventure full of suspense, twists, surprises, and much much more.

So much happens good and bad in this installment. Bound by Flames was excellent, but it was also dark!! The author rocked the dark and we are reminded of that fact with a vengeance. Graphic torture, skinning, rape, arms torn off and much more.

The balance of power in Vlad and Lelia's relationship has been one-sided, up until now. Leila new going into this marriage, with one of the most powerful vampires, would be a challenge. The personal growth these two go through was significant. We get to see Vlad’s vulnerable side; while Leila shows us how strong and resilient she can be. The author did a fantastic job pulling out all the stops and of course she didn't hold back on the ravishing parts either.

I loved seeing other characters make appearances. Mencheres pops in along with Cat and Bones who had a cameo, although I will point out that their part is somewhat spoiler-ish if you haven't read [b:Up From the Grave|10357792|Up From the Grave (Night Huntress #7)|Jeaniene Frost|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1367085937s/10357792.jpg|15260779]. It's fantastic for all those fans who love all things Night World.

Bound in Flames was so spectacular, full of emotion, action, and excitement. I couldn't get enough and devoured the book. I can't wait for the last book.

Bound by Flames: A Night Prince Novel by Jeaniene Frost

Narrated by Tavia Gilbert
Paranormal. Does not stand alone.
Jeaniene Frost is hands-down my favorite paranormal author. The Night Huntress Series is my favorite paranormal series ever and I was super excited to get Vlad’s story in the spin off series. But the first and second in the Night Prince Series just didn’t wow me. I felt like Vlad was missing the cocky, snarky attitude he had in Cat and Bones’s books. When Bound By Flames released in 2015, I bought it but sadly never got to it. I had just lost my excitement for the series and the genre in general.

But when I found out she was at a book signing I was going to, I had to get back into it, and grabbed the audiobook of Bound by Flames, Book 3 in the Night Prince series.

WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?

Even though it was 4 years since I read the last in the series and usually have no memory, I was immediately sucked back into Vlad and Leila’s story.

Szilagyi is Vlad's biggest enemy. He needs to be stopped, especially now that there is a real way to hurt Vlad—through Leila. But Vlad wants Leila safely locked away, while he deals with the situation. Leila, of course, is a strong woman with her own powers, and there is no way she will sit around and not try to help. But no matter how safe Vlad thought he made her, she still ended up in the evil Szilagyi's clutches.

What she suffered from was horrific. While Vampires may be able to take more than human’s physically, what she went through could break anyone.
“It changes nothing between us,” he breathed against my skin. “I love you, Leila, no matter what he or anyone else did.”

This installment was filled with non-stop action and was a bit darker than others in the series, but there were so many funny lines, I have to highlight a few I loved:
“Vlad flashed a tolerant look at Mencheres. "Pay this no mind. She always argues with me when I propose to her.”

“I want a hardened man, not a mass-murdering, pathologically vengeful one,” Vlad said. “There’s only room for one of those in my line right now, and that’s me.”

“The last ghouls I’d met had tried to eat me, and not in the romantic way.”

I’m not sure if it’s because it’s been so long since I read a Jeaniene Frost book, or because I was looking for something different, or because it was non-stop action, but this is my favorite of the spin-off series even though I still have many of the same issues. Vlad is still not the Vlad from the Night Huntress Series. He is missing the sexy snark and he’s just bossy and ruthless. And I never fell in love with Leila. I liked her a little more in this installment, but still, no love.

Likes:

  • •I got right back into the action after almost 4 years.

  • •Kept my interest non-stop. I couldn’t stop listening.

  • •So exciting, not a dull moment.

  • •There were some beautiful shared moments between Vlad and Leila.

  • •Vlad had a lot of emotional growth.

  • •Jeaniene Frost didn’t hold back- there were graphic torture scenes.

  • •Visits from Cat, Bones, Mencheres and more.

  • •Phenomenal narration.

Dislikes:

  • •Her self-blame and guilt for something she did to save herself.

  • •How things were left with Maximus.

  • •I still miss the Vlad from the Night Prince Series, the snarky, cocky one.

Narration:

Tavia Gilbert was incredible. I think she may even be the reason I enjoyed this installment more than the last two which I read and didn’t listen to. Her accents were amazing (Romanian, French Quarter NOLA, English and American), and she never over-acted.

The Down & Dirty:

The 3rd installment in the Night Prince Series by Jeaniene Frost is my favorite so far. Not only did the amazing narration make it better, but it was non-stop action and adventure. This one was a bit darker than previous books in that there was some pretty graphic torture, but we have come to expect that stuff in these books. I’ll be picking up the next one very soon!

Rating: 4.25 Stars, 3.75 Heat, 5 Narration

Goodreads and presumably my past self are telling me that I have read the first two books in the series. I have vague recollections of the premise. Vlad is the OG Dracula aka Vlad the Impaler and really does impale people in this series. Leila is the electricity conducting, former carnie love of his life. All in all, I had mixed feelings about this. Leila is kidnapped by Vlad's archenemy. There is torture and
Spoiler "mock" rape, although I consider the entire coerced scenario between Maximus and Leila sexual assault or rape or something since neither consented. Thank god Vlad had the correct reaction of "I'm okay with anything you have to do to survive" or else I would have rage quit all of Frost's books.
There are some fun action scenes. But all in all, not a fav.

I love this book!

I think it may be my favourite Jeaniene Frost book. Vlad is totally insane and Leila is kickass. I love it. I really don't know what else to say about this book!
