This was so cute and fun to read. I liked the first half better than the second, but really all around thought it was a great children's book.

We read this for our homeschool curriculum (ages 7 & 9) and had the best time reading it. Is it a distinguished novel? No, but it is fun and silly and engaging and absolutely precious. The movie was terrible though and completely different than the book.

This is officially the last book in my "2017 Lite and Fluffy" reading challenge. I think a very young YA (maybe even juvenile) is the perfect ending. I loved the movie "Nim's Island" it was fun and just the right amount of scary for young children. The book was equally enjoyable and kept my attention. I hope that doesn't say something negative about me. It was just a good story.

I adored this tale of a brave little girl surviving on her own on an island, and so did my ELL310 kids. I mean, this book is everything I like about kidlit: plucky female protagonists, an almost-fantastical but still probable setting, fun animal friends, details on the daily routines of living "off the grid."

This is a cute little story about a girl alone on an island, her dad who leaves her for a short trip that becomes much longer and a adventure writer in need of adventure. It is perfect for young kids but a little too simple and predictable for the adult reader. Reid was a fan though and it has an elusive pineapple in it (for our 2022 reading challenge) so it gets points for that!
