Heart transplants. Georgia.
Above all else, guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life.

This is a book about grief, forgiveness, and faith. It is a painful journey worth traveling.

There were a lot of vibes about both the male lead and the climax of the book that reminded me of Martin's Long Way Gone, although the plot was very different.

I may come back and finish this. But the subject material is difficult for me to read personally.

This is a really sweet book that will tug at your heartstrings. Overall, I really liked it but the first half was suuuper slow. The pace really picked up in the second half and I couldn’t put it down at the end.

No words that I can say can do this book justice. It will push through all of your layers until the words you are in the depths right beside the characters. You will laugh. You will grieve. You will praise. You will break. You will heal. Absolutely devastating but oh so life giving. A once in a lifetime read that will reverberate through you well after the last sentence has ended.
Personally, the main character and his best friend reminded me so much of my dad and his best friend. The two amigos that would do everything and anything together just to be with each other. With this being the 10th year since my dad passed, there were definitely a lot of bittersweet moments. I adore when books have traces of those you love - just makes it more real. Charles Martin, thank you for this masterpiece.
